Understanding Hearing Loss
Let's say, for example, you fell down the stairs and broke your foot.
You would go to the doctor and have the fracture reduced so you could walk again.
You would be aware of an acute situation and remedy it immediately. Hearing loss
for most of us is not a broken bone or acute kind of thing. Instead it is a
chronic or gradual loss of one of our most valuable senses. We are all getting
older - that's a good thing - and hopefully wiser.
Common Problems Associated With Hearing Loss
Here is a partial list of common problems associated with hearing loss; Daily
functions that are more difficult than they used to be, things we have done our
whole life and have essentially taken for granted. The list is not meant to be a
comprehensive list, but instead a representative sample of our daily lives.

Do you find it difficult to hear in larger group type settings?
-
Do people sound as though they are mumbling?

Do you have more trouble hearing and carrying on a conversation when
there is background noise, like a crowded restaurant?

they are saying?
